FOSTER and PASTEUR4OA Kick-off meetings

. 10 de Dezembro de 2013

The University of Minho, consortium member of  FOSTER Project and PASTEUR4OA Project, is pleased to host the jointly organized Kick-off Meetings of both projects. The event will take place at Centro Avançado de Formação Pós-Graduada, in Guimarães, Portugal, from 20 to 21 February 2014.

Considering the complementarities and needed collaboration between them, and the fact  that some partners participate in both projects, jointly organizing the  kick-off meetings of FOSTER and PASTEUR4OA projects, was a natural decision.

The purpose of these meetings is to officially start up the projects,  and also establish a common understanding of goals, work to be carried out by each partner, outline the difficulties envisaged, and possible resolution procedures.

FOSTER (http://www.fosteropenscience.eu) is the acronym of Fostering Open Science Training for European Research. It is a coordination initiative that aims to support different stakeholders, especially young researchers, in adopting open access in the context of the European Research Area (ERA) and in complying with the open access policies and rules of participation set out for Horizon 2020 (H2020).

PASTEUR4OA (http://www.pasteur4oa.eu) Open Access Policy Alignment Strategies for European Union Research aims to support the European Commission’s Recommendation to Member States of July 2012 that they develop and implement policies to ensure Open Access to all outputs from publicly-funded research.
